With how hot it has been in San Diego, the BBZ-1 Rat has been getting smacked around left and right. The bass can't seem to stay away. While the famous saying goes, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it!", curiosity got the best of me and I had to commit to the SPRO King Daddy frog for the night.

Quick bay report from San Diego. Jeff Cox, Brad Butler and I, fished San Diego Bay the other day in solid pre-frontal conditions. We had the intentions of making bait and drifting for Halibut, but with a complete lack of wind, that was very difficult to do. We quickly changed up the game plan and fished Spotted Bay Bass for the rest of the morning. Continue reading for this weeks report.

San Diego checking in with a Largemouth Bass report. I got out to Otay with my buddy Greg LeRoy the other day. He has a club tournament coming up this weekend so we were pre-fishing it, trying to find the fish, and see what they wanted to eat.

Here's a quick saltwater report from San Diego. I hit the water with my friend and fellow Cousins Tackle pro-staffer, Thomas Aranda. While there has been a solid yellowfin tuna bite this last week or so, the bait situation was less than ideal to say the least. To read what we did click on my photo.

With an offshore/inshore season that will go down in the books as one of the greatest of all time, there are still fish locally to be caught. Although many are transitioning into rockfish and lobster mode, there are still pelagics that are active and are close to home. The yellowtail are still around and they are good sized models.
 

Checking in from up north. I got the chance to fish the Sacramento River again, and while I wasn't able to get another Salmon like I did my last time I was here, the Trout kept me occupied this time around.
