California Spiny Lobster Recreational Season Opens on Sept. 29

This year the California spiny lobster recreational season is scheduled to open at 6 p.m. on Friday Sept. 29, 2023. South of Point Arguello, hoop nets cannot be deployed during the 24 hours leading up to the recreational lobster season opener. As with previous seasons, a valid California fishing license and a Spiny Lobster Report Card are required for all persons taking spiny lobster.
