FREE YOUTH FISHING EVENT NEAR L.A. DEC. 4

LOS ANGELES –Children ages 5-15 are invited to participate in a free youth fishing event at Legg Lake in the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, a County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation facility located at 751 South Santa Anita Ave. South El Monte, CA 91733, on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. The lake will be stocked with catfish and trout for this event. All fishing tools needed will be free for the kids.

This activity is designed to give boys and girls who live in urban areas an opportunity to enjoy a fishing experience in or close to their own neighborhood, with poles, reels, tackle, bait and assistance provided.  Event day onsite registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.; the fishing session will go from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a free drawing.

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation is co-sponsoring the derby with the Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and other partner expected to participate.
