Salmon on the California Delta

The second trip to Rio Vista was productive , first trip was a skunk . Hit it again sure glad we did .The oldman got his limit of kings Tho it's relativelyy early w/ the water still on the warm side around 70/69 degree was 72 last visit just a couple degrees can affect the bite seen a few other fish caught.

YBFV Tips – Early fall temperatures, typically around 70 degrees is a bit too warm. As the water cools into the season, the bite will pick up, but it’s still worth the effort. A change of just a couple of degrees can affect the bite. The California Delta is a tidal system; the incoming tide is generally best. An outgoing tide produces debris making the troll difficult. Salmon will not strike your lure if you have debris on your lure. October and November are prime months on the Rio Vista.
