VMC Tokyo Rig by Mike Iaconelli

The Tokyo Rig goes beyond standard punch rigging; the system provides increased attributes.

One-piece solid ring connected to a premium rolling barrel swivel allows the bait to move freely above the dropper arm with a natural flowing and undulating movement.

The system allows the weights to be on the bottom without hindering the action of the bait. The bait is suspended above the weight(s) making it ideal when the bottom is silty, or there’s a layer of vegetation and muck.

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been flipping and punching, I have a killer bite, I set the hook, and I come back with nothing. My tungsten weight was scrapped, but I missed the fish because the big weight pried the fish’s mouth open. This won’t happen anymore with the Tokyo Rig; the weight is totally below the unimpeded hook,” – Mike Iaconelli.

RIGGING RECOMMENDATIONS

Insert your favorite weight and/or bead combinations onto the shaft then bend the end of the shaft with a pair of narrow nose pliers to hold in place.

Instead of a single one-ounce sinker, anglers can use two half-ounce weights. The bottom sinker’s bullet points down, and the top weight points up. The double sinkers pointing in opposing directions allows easy weed penetration on the fall, and the ascent when removing the lure.

  • Heavy-duty wide gap forged hook for maximum strength.

  • Stainless steel 2.5" dropper arm for customized rigging.

  • 3° offset point for increased hooking rate.

The black nickel finish Tokyo Rig comes in four sizes; 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 VMC heavy-duty wide gap hook, two per pack. They’re available at Tackle Warehouse for $3.79. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Tokyo_Rig_2pk/descpage-VMCTR.html
