Brad Wiegmann Hammers A Monster Striper On SPRO BBZ-1 Rat 40

Bill,

What can I say? It was getting towards dark and I was using a waking technique with a Morning Dawn colored Spro Rat. I picked the 40mm size because it a big meal and hungry, shallow biting stripers on highland reservoirs key on big flat where large gizzard shad move up and feed in the evening.

Obviously, once the group of stripers startedschooling, I may a long cast and was waking the Rat back when it hit. Truth is that the striper hit so hard, it really set the hook itself.

On a 7-foot rod and 17 pound test monofilament the battle was one.

I turn the GoPro on and wouldn't you know it, the camera fell down sometime during the battle. I did get a little video at the end of the striper to show my friends how the Rat is a beast-okay, a rodent, a big fish catching rat.

Bill, your readers can check out my story on my website here.
