Stan Kaplun With A San Diego Bay Report

Stan Kaplun

Hey BBZ members, Stan Kaplun checking in from San Diego. I've been fishing the local bay's and lagoons lately and I wanted to update you guys on the results. The halibut, spottie, and corvina fishing has been been hit and miss. The best luck that I've had has been watching the bird activity. Keep your eyes out for them diving on bait, and try to get to the spot as quickly as possible. A lot of the action has come from casting near the boils, and retrieving the lure steadily. All fish have been caught on the SPRO BBZ-1 6", and SPRO BBZ-1 Rat 50. With the water getting warmer and the Yellowtail and Tuna coming further inshore each day, it's just a matter of time before they're just a couple miles out, and the Dorado pop up in the local kelp. Things are heating up, and when they do, I'll be out there in my 10ft aluminum, hopefully getting towed around by some fish! Stay tuned for more fish reports.
